Senior and Veterans Connection

The Woburn Senior Center identifies programs that support and celebrate the lives of residents age 60 and older as a core mission, but it operates from a single facility in one part of the city. Central Square seniors — many of them long-time neighborhood residents — have no local gathering point since the school closed.

For veterans, the Friends of Woburn Veterans is a non-profit focused on maintaining memorials and supporting veteran-related projects throughout the city, but there is no dedicated civic space where veterans can gather informally, access peer support, or participate in programming.

A community center anchored in the historic Castle would serve both groups without requiring them to travel across the city. City of WoburnCity of Woburn
